Ernie Ewin and Shannon

After serving for six years on the La Mesa City Council from 1985 to 1990, I did not seek re-election due to my children achieving their teenage years. I needed to be home.

After being away for 12 years, I returned in 2002 armed with a new perspective and enthusiasm; new insights into solving issues and making positive changes.

Shannon O’Dunn brings to our city no less the energy and fresh perspective that I felt six years ago. Her enthusiasm, objectivity, insights, professional experiences and long time residency make her a logical choice to keep La Mesa moving forward.

I am confident that La Mesa’s voters will recognize Shannon’s leadership qualities, public service, personal preparedness and critical thinking ability – to think on her feet and analyze issues. Her interpersonal skills will enable her to achieve consensus and positive results with the key Council issues we face. She is not afraid to ask questions and make key decisions.

As I discovered in 2002 – when an incumbent decided not to run – it is never too soon to start the dialogue with the Citizens…never too soon to start the race.

Now is the time to recognize that new ideas addressing critical issues is what La Mesa will need going into the future.

The time is now to look to a new vision of solutions!!

That is why I support Shannon O’Dunn for La Mesa City Council in 2008.
