Management Experience
- 2000-05 Dean, Communication and Fine Arts Division, Grossmont College
Managed a $4.5 million/year instructional division including Art, Communication, Dance, Media Communication, Music, and Theatre Arts: 34 full-time and 70 part-time faculty, 10 classified employees, and 50 hourly workers. Specialized programs/facilities include an extensive 3-D art production yard and 13 kilns, a state-of-the-art theatre, 2 dance studios, a regional symphony orchestra and master chorale, public art gallery with seven shows annually, a TV/video studio, radio station, and post-production digital audio and video laboratories, campus newspaper production, and a nationally competitive forensics team.
- 1986-93 Director, Grants/Contract Instruction Grossmont-Cuyamaca CCD
Wrote successful grants for program development in all disciplines, to local,
state, federal, and private sources. Developed student admission and
contract instruction programs with Tokyo Foreign Language College, the
University of Okinawa, and Jin’ai Women’s Junior College. Founded
American Collegiate English, a revenue-generating program to recruit and
transition visa students into Grossmont credit programs.
